The goal of the art program’s Ceramic and Dimensional Arts Emphasis is to provide an educational experience that develops technical skills, critical and aesthetic judgment, and a sound knowledge of the visual arts. This is appropriate for students seeking a general appreciation of the ceramics and 3 Dimensional arts as well as to aspiring professionals within the fine and commercial arts industries. The faculty engage students in the discipline of visual art production as a major component in the liberal arts tradition including studio practice and art history. Students complete a common group of foundation and art history courses, then choose an emphasis area to develop a robust portfolio and exhibition during their capstone courses.
