NUR 495 - Transition to Professional Practice ClinicalCredit Hour(s): 3 This course serves as the capstone for the program. Students will clinically apply and synthesize prerequisite knowledge, skills, and clinical reasoning acquired throughout the program. Focusing on transition into professional nursing practice, students will increase their responsibility and accountability in professional nursing roles. Utilization of delegation skills and principles, along with management and leadership skills, emerge in a greater way throughout this rotation. Through culminating learning experiences, students and faculty will assess the required competencies as the final program outcomes. Abandonment, abuse, and neglect remain a focal point of practice as per Code of Virginia §54.1 -3013.1. 3 Credit(s).
