ENG 106 - Introduction to News Writing and Reporting

[WC] With an emphasis on creating a concise, “tight” news article, this course teaches the fundamentals of news writing combined with transmitting factual and accurate information in a stylized methodology. Students will employ the fundamentals of college-level critical reading, writing, and research as they develop their writing voices and news sense. Focusing on audience, purpose, and context, students will develop writing projects through multiple stages of research, interviewing, first-hand accounts, and drafting processes while refining proficiency with conventions of standard written English and Associated Press Style. 3 Credit(s). 3 Contact Hour(s).
