The Ferrum College RN to BSN Program will utilize experiential and innovative teaching practices in an online platform. The creation of “community” will be achieved by threading connection and interaction across the curriculum. A caring and personalized atmosphere will prepare graduates to provide nursing care through the application of knowledge, theory, evidence, and clinical reasoning. Graduates will be prepared to manage illness and promote, maintain, and restore health for individuals, families, diverse and rural populations, and global communities across the lifespan. The liberal arts foundation upon which this program is based enriches the professional curriculum to help graduates be thoughtful and perceptive, to think critically, to be articulate and capable of working effectively in interprofessional teams, to appreciate diversity, and to be caring and concerned citizens of their community, nation, and world.
This program offers Fall and Spring admissions. Eight courses (plus 1 college onboarding course) run 8 weeks each (2 per semester), spanning 4 consecutive semesters, allowing students the opportunity to complete this degree in under 18 months. This progression model allows for co- enrollment of remaining general education credits as necessary.
