AGS 417 - Agricultural Business ManagementCredit Hour(s): 3 [NSM] This course examines the farm enterprise through a holistic lens, including: market viability assessments, financing, legal organization, goal identification adn planning, purchasing, personnel, operations, record management, marketing and customer relations, transport, modernization, risk diversification, and successional planning. Ecoomic principles will include supply and demand, fixed and variable costs, monetizing labor and price forecasting - and how this informs short and long-term decision making. Common information tools and applications will aslo be introduced. Students will be expected to complete a farm of small business plan as a capstone experience. 3 Credit(s).
