PSY 580 - Practicum in Clinical & Counseling Psychology

Credit Hour(s): 3
This course involves a supervised experience at a placement site approved by the Program Director. Emphasis is two-fold. For assessment-focused placements, the emphasis is on the refinement of various skills involved in psychological evaluation, assessment, testing, consultation, diagnosis, report writing, and patient feedback. For treatment-focused placement, the emphasis is on the refinement of various skills involved in therapy, counseling, diagnosis, and case conceptualization. Students must concurrently participate in a weekly practicum seminar and are required to make case presentations and complete a final mock oral examination. 3 Credit(s).

Prerequisite(s): PSY 501, PSY-503, PSY-532, and PSY-530.
