PSY 562 - Forensic Psychology: Trial SciencesCredit Hour(s): 3 This course examines the role of the psychologist or other expert during the actual trial. The course focuses heavily on the role of the expert witness as opposed to fact witness (report writing, ultimate issues, depositions, pretrial conferences, witness voir dire, direct examination, cross-examination, and jury relations). Additional topics include important procedural aspects of the trial (common objections, motions, etc.), professional jury consultation, trial theory and consultation, the use of mock juries, witness preparation services, negotiation strategy, reliability of eye-witness memory, and public relations and media impression management. 3 credit(s) 3 Credit(s).
