PSY 561 - Forensic Psychology: Assessment II

This course, the second of two parts, examines the relationships between psychology and American law through the lens of a scientist and court expert. Specific topics to be addressed in part II of this course include psycho-legal concepts within Civil Law. These include Family Law (child custody and parental fitness), Immigration Law (hardships, torture, asylum, etc.), Tort Law and Discrimination Law (negligence, emotional distress discrimination, harassment), Disabilities (social security, workers comp, emotional support animals, educational rights), guardianship, commitment, and hospitalization).  3 Credit(s).
