EDU 514 - Designing Content Area Curriculum for Meaningful Student Learning

This course introduces learners to the concept of values-guided design and how it can be a tool used to develop meaningful student-centered curriculum. Learners will use their classroom curriculum frameworks as a foundation to understand, apply, and examine the central concepts and ideas presented in the course. Independent and collaborative inquiry will support the learner’s approach to curriculum development that aligns and strengthens student learning in the classroom.
Learners will have the opportunity to engage with external stakeholders in the advancement of their understanding of the material and how it applies to their professional practice as educators and curriculum designers. 3 Credit(s). 3 Contact Hour(s).
