CSC 145 - Social Networking Best Practices

Credit Hour(s): 3
This course focuses on social networking interaction, the risks, and personal security on the Internet. It provides students with a comprehensive introduction to the field and covers critical social network services interaction with others such as experienced on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace etc. Threats and vulnerabilities to specific social networking websites are examined in detail. Students will learn how to safely collaborate and interact through personal and professional social networking websites using computer security best practices. Issues associated with the impact of social computing on individuals and society will be addressed using several hands-on exercises. 3 Credit(s).

Prerequisite(s): CSC 100 - Computer Literacy , CSC 101 - Introduction to Computers and Computer Information Systems , CSC 125 - Concepts in Computer Information Systems  or BUS 230 - Computer Applications  recommended before taking CSC 145.
